Pelco DX4004-160 DX4000 Series Digital Video Recorder

Description of Pelco DX4004 160

The DX4004160 DX4000 Series digital video recorder (DVR) is a high performance video recorder, entry-level, professional digital video recorder that not only replaces the traditional VCR and multiplexer combination but also offers the benefits derived from the latest in digital video processing.
Designed to work with today’s broadband networks, the DX4004 160 uses MPEG-4 compression, allowing the user the ability to view and control the DVR across a local or wide area network. Additionally, the smaller file size produced by the MPEG-4 compression standard, allows for longer storage times compared with traditional DVR technologies.
With the ability to record at resolutions up to 704 x 480, the DX4004-160 in the DX4000 Series DVR captures crystal clear pictures, creating effective footage for later use and retrieval. With the ability to record up to 120 images per second in CIF resolution users can also record full-motion video if desired. Individual adjustments are possible on a per input basis to optimize the DX4004160 to meet a given installation’s requirements for video retention. Video critical for investigation and archiving can be easily exported to a USB memory device or an optional CD-RW.
With the ability to address and control pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) equipment such as the Spectra ® domes, and Esprit ® positioning systems, the DX4004 160 becomes a powerful control point for the surveillance requirements of an installation. In addition, with the ability to trigger recording and alarms on motion detection or external contacts the DX4000 Series becomes an automated monitoring engine as well.
The DX4004-160 video outputs provide for efficient control and effective deterrence. The choice of VGA, S-Video, or composite main monitor output provides flexibility for the user. The main monitor output can be adjusted to display in full screen or quad format. The DX4000’s spot monitor can be used for public view applications, providing an effective deterrent to would-be criminals.
Finally, the DX4004160 in the DX4000 Series is designed to deliver robust and reliable performance for security professionals. From the incorporation of watermarking technology to prevent alterations to captured video, to the ability to capture log entries detailing any faults or user-initiated changes to the system, to the inclusion of Pelco’s world renowned customer service promise, the DX4004 160 in the DX4000 Series embodies the ideal entry-level digital video recorder to protect assets and people.

    Complete Modularity
For more than ten years, Pelcos approach to modular system design has meant flexibility and performance in any number of environments. Spectra is the most flexible, adaptable dome positioning system that has ever been made.

    Back Box Options
It all begins with the back box. Traditionally, memory for location-specific operating parameters such as preset positions, alarm functions and camera settings resided in the dome drive. Of course, this is the one component that is most likely to be changed or moved to another location. With Spectra IV SE, all location-specific settings are stored in non-volatile memory within the dome enclosure, meaning all programming for a site location is retained, regardless of how many times the dome drive is changed. Black Box options include:

    • Standard Pendant
    • Environmental Pendant
    • Surface-Mount
    • In-Ceiling
    • Environmental In-Ceiling
    • Heavy-Duty Pendant
    • Heavy-Duty In-Ceiling
    • Stainless Steel
    • Pressurized Environmental, Heavy-Duty Pendant
    • Endura IP Video System

    Dome Drive Flexibility
The Dome Drive module is the heart of every Spectra IV system. The Dome Drive encapsulates the integrated optics package, positioning system, and processing unit within an interchangeable system component.
Spectra currently offers six distinct Dome Drives to meet the demands of any installation. And, of course, any of these optics packages work with any of the back boxes listed above. Its easy to see how the choices add up when you choose Spectra and were not even done yet.

    • 16x Zoom Lens, DSS LowLight
    • 18x Zoom Lens with Day/Night Camera, DSS LowLight
    • 22x Zoom Lens with Monochrome Camera, DSS LowLight
    • 22x Zoom Lens with Color Camera, DSS LowLight
    • 23x Zoom Lens with Day/Night Camera, DSS LowLight, Wide Dynamic Range and Motion Detection
    • 35x Zoom Lens with Day/Night Camera, DSS LowLight, Wide Dynamic Range and Motion Detection, Electronic Image Stabilization

    Communications Systems
Spectra IV products are capable of transmitting video and translating data in several different formats through multiple communication module choices. Video can be output over coax, unshielded twisted pair (UTP), multi-mode fiber, single mode fiber, or TCP/IP. By selecting one of the 7 optional protocol translation boards (TXB), the Spectra IV product can receive and translate alternate PTZ control protocols internally, without the need for an external translation box.

    Lower Dome Options
As you can tell, the choices and variety are numerous. But theres more to the story. Depending on the demands of your specific installation, Spectra offers a number of lower domes from which to choose. From clear and smoked bubbles to vandal-resistant, heavy-duty cage models, all are thoroughly tested for quality assurance and designed to meet NEMA Type 4X and IP66 Standards.

    Mounting Systems
Now that you have built the Spectra system you need, there still is the matter of installation. With a variety of mounts available, Spectra systems can be seamlessly installed in almost any environment, delivering an aesthetic appeal second to none. Moreover, understanding that there are always some installations that require unique solutions, Pelco offers an SMR Special Manufacturing Requests process that aims to build specialty products, including mounts, to help meet the requirements of installations.
